It Started With Three Friends and a Bad Idea.
In 2019, three cyclists from Pune rode from the base of the Sahyadris to the plateau above Mahabaleshwar, unsupported, on a dare. It took them eleven hours, two flat tyres, and a monsoon downpour they never saw coming. They came down convinced that if it nearly broke them, it deserved a start line.
Sahyadri Classic is that ride, formalised: marshalled, timed, medically supported, and opened to every rider willing to test themselves against the same climbs.
