Rules & Regulations
Sahyadri Classic is run under standard endurance road-racing conduct. Every rider agrees to these rules at registration and again at bib collection.
• Helmets must be worn and fastened at all times on course — no exceptions
• Riders must stay within marked lanes on shared-traffic sections
• Drafting is permitted in Open categories, prohibited in Novice and Masters categories
• Littering on course results in immediate disqualification
• Riders must follow all instructions from marshals, officials and medical personnel
• Personal support vehicles are strictly not permitted anywhere on course
Mandatory Equipment
The Sahyadris are unpredictable above 1,000 m. This kit list is mandatory, checked at bib collection, and non-negotiable.
• CPSC/ISI-certified helmet • Front white light, rear red light
• Puncture repair kit or spare tube • Minimum 1 litre water carrying capacity
• Reflective vest or strips • Fully charged phone with emergency contact saved
• Valid government-issued photo ID • Lightweight rain shell
Safety & Medical
A full medical team is stationed at every aid station and the finish line, with two mobile response units patrolling the course throughout race hours.
• Ambulance support at KM 28, KM 64, KM 98 and the finish
• Course marshals stationed at every hairpin on the three main descents
• Riders showing signs of heat exhaustion or altitude discomfort may be withdrawn by medical staff
• All riders must disclose relevant medical conditions at registration — kept confidential
Cut-off Times
Cut-offs keep every rider off the descents before dark and within reach of medical support. Riders who miss a cut-off are transported safely to the finish and marked DNF.
