1. What is the Sahyadri Classic?
It’s a premier cycling race across the scenic Sahyadri ghats with multiple categories for men, women, juniors, MTB, and specially-abled riders.
2. Where does the race start and finish?
The race starts from Kelghar and covers multiple ghats, with finish points depending on the category chosen.
3. How many categories are there?
There are 14 categories, including Men, Women, MTB/Hybrid, Junior, and Specially Abled.
4. Can I register for multiple categories?
No, each rider can participate in only one category.
5. What is the cut-off time policy?
Riders must complete each ghat within the given cut-off. Missing it means you cannot continue the race.
6. Will I get support on the route?
Yes, hydration points, mediacal support will be available. Mechanical support will be available at main hub.
7. Is the race open to international riders?
Yes, international participants are welcome.
8. Do I need a special type of cycle?
Road bikes, MTB, and Hybrid bikes can participate in any category except the MTB/Hybrid special category, where only MTB and Hybrid bikes are allowed.
9. What is the minimum age to participate?
18+ for adults. Junior category is open for riders under 18 with parental consent.
10. Are helmets compulsory?
Yes, helmets are mandatory for all riders.
11. Do I need cycle lights?
Yes, lights are compulsory for all riders between 6:00–7:00 AM and 6:00–7:00 PM for safety.
12. What happens if I miss a cut-off?
You will not be allowed to continue to the next ghat, but you can still complete your ride outside official timings.
13. Can my family/friends cheer along the route?
Yes, supporters are welcome at safe points along the route.
14. Will I get a timing chip and race certificate?
Yes, all official participants will receive a timing chip and certificate.
15. Is there a refund or transfer policy?
Registrations are refundable at 70% if cancelled before 15 November. Registrations are non-transferable.
16. How do I reach the race location?
Detailed directions and nearest stay options will be shared with registered participants before race day.
17. Is the race a mass start or staggered start?
A mass start means all riders in a category start the race together, creating an exciting and competitive environment.
18. How does the point system work?
Points are awarded to the first five finishers at each ghat based on their position. The rider with the highest total points across all ghats in their category is declared the winner.
19. Are points different for each ghat?
Yes, each ghat has a unique point distribution, making performance in every section important.
20. Where can I check the point distribution?

21. Which ghats are included in the 4 Ghats category?
Kelghar, Ambenali, Tapola, and Kelghar.
22. Which ghats are included in the 2 Ghats category?
Tapola and Kelghar.
23. Which ghat is included in the 1 Ghat category?
Kelghar.
