1. What is the Sahyadri Classic?

It’s a premier cycling race across the scenic Sahyadri ghats with multiple categories for men, women, juniors, MTB, and specially-abled riders.

The race starts from Kelghar and covers multiple ghats, with finish points depending on the category chosen.

There are 14 categories, including Men, Women, MTB/Hybrid, Junior, and Specially Abled.

No, each rider can participate in only one category.

Riders must complete each ghat within the given cut-off. Missing it means you cannot continue the race.

Yes, hydration points, mediacal support will be available. Mechanical support will be available at main hub.

Yes, international participants are welcome.

Road bikes, MTB, and Hybrid bikes can participate in any category except the MTB/Hybrid special category, where only MTB and Hybrid bikes are allowed.

18+ for adults. Junior category is open for riders under 18 with parental consent.

Yes, helmets are mandatory for all riders.

Yes, lights are compulsory for all riders between 6:00–7:00 AM and 6:00–7:00 PM for safety.

You will not be allowed to continue to the next ghat, but you can still complete your ride outside official timings.

Yes, supporters are welcome at safe points along the route.

Yes, all official participants will receive a timing chip and certificate.

Registrations are refundable at 70% if cancelled before 15 November. Registrations are non-transferable.

Detailed directions and nearest stay options will be shared with registered participants before race day.

A mass start means all riders in a category start the race together, creating an exciting and competitive environment.

Points are awarded to the first five finishers at each ghat based on their position. The rider with the highest total points across all ghats in their category is declared the winner.

Yes, each ghat has a unique point distribution, making performance in every section important.
